Job description

Job Summary Proficiently follows the procedures of the payroll and accounts payable duties, including but not limited to reviewing submitted time sheets for accuracy, electronically submit bank files. Provides assistance to County departments with answers regarding accounting questions. Assists with maintaining specialized fiscal records; audits vouchers, establishes, maintains and reviews accounting records, claims, and accounts payable.

Distinguishing Characteristics Positions in this class require a definable body of knowledge and skills which exceed those required by lower-level financial office support workers. Responsibilities include the performance of complex, technical or specialized financial office support work requiring the regular use of independent judgment and initiative. Licensing, Education, & Other Requirements Any combination of training, education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.

A typical way to gain the required knowledge and ability is: Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with emphasis in finance, accounting or a similar field; AND Three (3) years of administrative level experience in finance, payroll or accounting; OR An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that could provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must Possess and maintain a valid Nevada Driver License. Must successfully pass a criminal background investigation.
