Because the Controller supports multiple hotel properties, you will serve as the Controller's eyes, ears, and right hand at the Embassy Suites, helping ensure the Accounting Department operates accurately, efficiently, and proactively each day.

We're looking for someone who wants more than processing invoices. This role offers exposure to every aspect of hotel accounting, including Accounts Payable, revenue audit, cash management, general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and operational accounting. You'll be trusted to identify issues, solve problems, and help maintain the financial integrity of the hotel.

If you're looking to build a long-term career in hotel accounting, this position provides an excellent opportunity to grow while working alongside an experienced Controller and hotel leadership team.

Investigate accounting discrepancies and partner with department leaders to resolve issues.

Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

Accounts Payable

Process vendor invoices accurately and timely.

Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation.

Prepare weekly payment batches.

Maintain vendor files and respond to vendor inquiries.

Support corporate reporting requirements and annual audits.

Complete special accounting projects assigned by the Controller.

Operational Support

Partner with department leaders throughout the hotel to answer accounting questions and resolve issues.

Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.

Monitor financial activity and proactively communicate concerns to the Controller.

Serve as the primary accounting resource at the property while the Controller is supporting another hotel.

Maintain strict confidentiality while exercising sound judgment and professional discretion.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (OnQ, PEP, Opera, or similar).

Experience with hotel Point-of-Sale systems such as Agilysys, Micros, or Toast.

Experience with Birchstreet, ProfitSword, Great Plains, or similar accounting software.

Schedule

Full-Time
