Job description

About the Company: On December 17, 2025, FlyHouse completed the aquisition of Sun Air Jets. As you join the Sun Air Jets team, you are now part of the House.

FlyHouse is a rapidly growing private aviation company offering a complete suite of private aviation services including aircraft management, charter operations, maintenance (Part 135 and Part 145 certified), and innovative technology solutions. Founded in 2021 with operations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Van Nuys and Camarillo, California, FlyHouse is revolutionizing private aviation through our innovative business model, patent-pending mobile application platform, and commitment to safety, service, and transparency.

Position Summary

The Accountable Manager serves as the single point of accountability for the FAA Part 145 Certificate held at FlyHouse Management’s Camarillo (KCMA) and (KVNY) facilities. This individual is the designated primary interface with the FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) and bears full regulatory responsibility for the station’s compliance posture, quality system, and airworthiness standards. Beyond regulatory duties, this role leads all day-to-day MRO operations at CMA — encompassing workforce development, customer experience, financial performance, and strategic team growth — in alignment with FlyHouse’s broader network objectives.

This is simultaneously an operational leadership role and a compliance leadership role. The right candidate brings deep business jet MRO experience on Gulfstream and Citation platforms, a demonstrated track record of building and scaling technician teams in a Part 145 environment, and the regulatory credibility to represent FlyHouse to the FAA and to aircraft owners who trust us with their assets.

Essential Job Functions

FAA Part 145 Regulatory Accountability:

    • Serve as the General Manager and team leader for KCMA and KVNY

    • Ensure the Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM), Operations Specifications, and all station manuals are current, FAA-approved, and actively implemented throughout the workforce.

    • Lead all FAA inspections, surveillance activities, and certificate actions; serve as the primary regulatory correspondent for the station.

    • Maintain a robust corrective action system ensuring all findings and non-conformances are resolved promptly, documented, and closed per Part 145 requirements.

    • Ensure currency of all ratings, limitations, and approved maintenance data references; coordinate certificate amendments as capabilities expand.

    • Oversee drug and alcohol testing program compliance in coordination with the company’s designated program manager.

Operations Leadership

    • Direct all maintenance production activities for Gulfstream (GIV/GV/G450/G550/G650 series), Cessna Citation (CJ/XLS/Sovereign/Latitude/Longitude series), Bombardier Challenger, and other approved business jet platforms in the station’s ratings.
    • Establish and enforce production scheduling, hangar workflow, tooling accountability, and AOG response protocols to deliver best-in-class on-time performance.
    • Own P&L accountability for the CMA facility; manage operating budgets, labor efficiency, parts procurement costs, and revenue recognition in coordination with FlyHouse finance leadership.
    • Align with sales and customer service on quote execution, customer expectations, and return-to-service commitments; serve as a senior customer-facing leader for the CMA station.
    • Partner with the Van Nuys (KVNY) GM and FlyHouse network leadership to share resources, capabilities, and best practices across California sites.

Workforce Development & Team Scaling

    • Build, mentor, and scale the CMA A&P technician team — this role carries an explicit expectation to grow headcount significantly, requiring the ability to recruit, develop, and retain top-tier business jet technicians in the competitive Southern California aviation labor market.
Conduct regular one-on-ones, annual performance reviews, and career development conversations with all direct reports; create visible growth pathways for technicians.
    • Champion the FlyHouse mechanic-first culture: prioritize technician safety, competitive and transparent compensation, professional development, and team belonging.
    • Identify training needs and coordinate type-specific training, recurrency programs, and structured OJT for new hires and experienced personnel,

Quality & Safety

    • Champion the FlyHouse safety management culture; ensure all employees understand and consistently apply the station’s safety policies and reporting obligations.
    • Maintain oversight of the internal audit program; ensure findings are closed with documented root cause analysis and preventive action.
    • Enforce compliance with applicable FARs, ADs, AMMs, IPCs, SRMs, manufacturer Service Bulletins, and FAA Advisory Circulars for all work performed at CMA.
    • Ensure accurate maintenance documentation and records retention for all work performed, in compliance with Part 145, aircraft owner requirements, and FlyHouse record-keeping standards.

Strategic & Financial

    • Develop the CMA annual operating plan and budget in coordination with FlyHouse leadership; report actuals vs. plan monthly with corrective actions as needed.
    • Identify capability expansion opportunities — new aircraft ratings, component work scope, OEM authorizations — and develop business cases for leadership review.
    • Provide strategic input into FlyHouse’s California growth plan, including CMA/VNY coordination and potential market expansion across the region.
    • Represent CMA in FlyHouse senior leadership meetings; deliver accurate operational reporting, forecasting, and workforce updates.

 Required Education & Experience

    • FAA Part 145 Repair Station experience is required — candidates must have direct, hands-on operational experience within a Part 145 regulatory environment.
