JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for leading daily production operations to ensure the manufacturing process remains smooth and efficient by organizing workflows and monitoring staff. Additionally, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for directing, training, mentoring and assisting production workers in all processes and procedures with the goal of creating appropriate product on a timely basis. This position will lead the activities of employees through technical knowledge, experience, and sound decision-making abilities to support product quality and ensure customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Promote and maintain a safety-first culture by ensuring daily compliance with safety protocols, proper use of PPE, and adherence to established procedures and policies.

  • Drive quality and productivity by documenting and enforcing standard operating procedures, ensuring daily production goals and quality standards are met.

  • Oversee the training, onboarding, and development of new and existing employees, ensuring all staff receive necessary training and regular check-ins.

  • Conduct performance evaluations for team leads and skilled positions, and assist in ongoing employee assessments, including coaching, counseling, and documenting progress.

  • Support continuous improvement activities in the department to enhance processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency within the department.

  • Manage timekeeping and attendance, including approving vacation requests, tracking time, and maintaining accurate attendance records.

  • Supervise the work output and performance of Trainers and Process Assistants, providing guidance to ensure effective operations and employee engagement.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to meet interdepartmental production and quality requirements, ensuring smooth workflow and timely output.

  • Track and report departmental metrics as established by Plant Management, ensuring transparency and accountability in meeting production goals

  • Develops a succession planning program that will allow for the internal promotion of qualified candidates.

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management to support overall plant operations.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two to four years prior leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting, and experience in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve goals.

  • Proven track record in developing and leading a diverse team, demonstrating the ability to coach and develop team members with varied backgrounds.

  • Proven problem solver, demonstrated by prior experience at employers.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and excellence, with a passion for driving operational excellence and achieving results.

  • Degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, operations management, or related field a plus, but not required.
