Overview
Intersport, a leader in sports, entertainment, and lifestyle marketing and media for over three decades, provides expertise in the areas of:
  • Agency Services: brand consulting, creative, content production, digital, experiential marketing field marketing, hospitality, social media marketing, and sponsorship consulting
  • Properties - owned-and-operated live sports and lifestyle events and media assets airing on broadcast and digital networks
Intersport is seeking to add a smart and driven Trainee to its Agency Services team. The Agency Services team is integral to providing existing clients with a variety of solutions to help them reach their business and brand objectives. The Trainee will be responsible for providing high quality deliverables to our internal team in support of clients' sponsorship and experiential (event) marketing activation.
The Trainee program is the means for entry-level hiring at Intersport. A Trainee position is full-time and covers a period of six months. Toward the end of the six-month period Intersport will determine permanent placement options, based on Trainee performance, market factors and Intersport's ability to hire. The responsibilities of each Trainee position varies depending on the needs of the company and the interests of the Trainee. In addition to their day-to-day work, the Trainee will gain exposure across the organization to get a well-rounded view of Intersport and of the sports and entertainment marketing industry.
Responsibilities
General
  • Embody and reflect Intersport's performance-based culture and commits him/herself and team to the highest standards for all agency work
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver executional excellence
Deliverables
  • With direction from senior team members, provide assistance in project management, vendor management, and in client communications (e.g. status calls, status reports, email and phone communications)
  • Make edits to PowerPoint presentations (e.g. decks) with a high-level aesthetic and an exacting level of detail
  • Provide desk research in support of client/program objectives
  • Provide administration support and prep and follow-up materials for prospect/client meetings and following events
  • Create and maintains administrative documents in a clear, concise and detailed manner
Sponsorship
  • Help manage sports and entertainment properties in the form of status calls, project management, creative development and creative approvals, and various administrative needs
Event Execution
  • Assist client team in the oversight of property events including coordination and communication between Intersport departments, clients, and vendors
  • Assist in on-site execution at the direction of the account team
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is $45,000. If, after the six-month Trainee period the Trainee is converted to a permanent employee, the title is adjusted to Assistant Account Executive and the salary is adjusted to $47,500.
This position includes medical, dental, vision, parental leave benefits, and 401(k) with company match for qualified employees.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Zero (0) to one (1) years' experience in a marketing role at an agency, brand, media company, sports or entertainment property, or related organization
  • Strong interest in the sports and entertainment marketing landscape, specifically sponsorship and/or experiential/event marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct online/desk research
  • Ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, inclusive of a detail oriented and organized approach
  • Application of superior prioritization and time-management skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work at a fast pace
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive, team player with a strong work ethic
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to travel for business on trips typically lasting between two to five days and with an interest in working in an on-site/event marketing environment
  • Demonstrable graphic design capabilities (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) a plus
