Are you an experienced accounting professional ready to step into a role where youll be more than just a number? PND Engineers is looking for a skilled A/P - Payroll Accountant who enjoys coming to work each day knowing their contributions directly support 140 employees and managers across all of our offices. In this small but vital accounting team, youll be a key playernot lost in layers of bureaucracywith the chance to expand your skills and move upward.


What Youll Do

Youll start by mastering our accounts payable and biweekly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and friendly service to staff. From there, youll cross-train in accounts receivable, project accounting, and financial reportingbuilding a broad foundation in all areas of the department. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, responsibility, and making an impact in a close-knit team.


What Were Looking For

  • At least five years of progressive experience in accounts payable and payroll (including quarterly tax prep and workers comp audits). Project accounting background is a plus.
  • An associates or bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Deltek/Ajera or other project accounting software is a plus.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • High accuracy, analytical thinking, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
  • A proven track record of stepping up, meeting deadlines, and handling additional responsibility.
  • Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive records.
  • Valid Alaska drivers license and clean driving record.
