Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for performing a wide variety of accounts payable functions which include invoice processing, check disbursements, and customer-vendor relations. All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with all laws and regulations, as well as Fontainebleau Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Match invoices with receivers, purchase orders, and requisitions
  • Audit invoices to determine accurate coding to proper general ledger accounts
  • Perform data entry associated with accounts payable
  • Prepare and review payment runs for accuracy, payment terms, and proper approval
  • Maintain vendor accounts while staying in compliance with Company policies and procedures
  • Research and reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • Provide excellent service and communication to internal customers and external vendors, ensuring issues are addressed in a timely manner
  • Communicate problems or discrepancies to management in a timely and efficient manner
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School Diploma required
  • Six (6) or more months of experience in an accounting clerk role
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and compile detailed reports
  • Proven knowledge of payables standards and procedures
  • Sound independent judgment
  • Attention to detail, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess good mathematical and clerical skills
  • Must be customer service-oriented with good communication skills
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance
