Transdev Manitoba is hiring a Full Time Finance Manager to fill an existing role in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Job Summary

Transdev Manitoba is seeking an experienced and collaborative Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of our Winnipeg branch. Reporting to the General Manager, with a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Finance, you will oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll support.

As the leader of the Winnipeg Finance team, you will work closely with the Ontario & Manitoba Finance Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and provide financial insights that support business decisions. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes, developing teams, and partnering with operations to drive organizational success.

Your Role:

Financial Management and Accounting 

  • Oversee all general ledger activities to ensure accurate and complete financial records.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer billing, and related accounting functions.
  • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and submit GST/PST and other statutory remittances.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain strong internal financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. 

Financial Reporting & Analysis 

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Monitor cash flow and financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Coordinate audit requirements and prepare supporting documentation.

Leadership & Team Management 

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Winnipeg Finance team, including the Billing Supervisor and Accounting Clerk.
  • Manage performance, workload distribution, and employee development while promoting accountability and continuous improvement. 

Operational Support 

  • Partner with Operations Managers to resolve financial and billing matters.
  • Support customer invoicing, investigate billing discrepancies, and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review new customer and vendor account setups and provide financial guidance to leadership.

Working Conditions 

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week), primarily office-based.
  • Occasional overtime during month-end, year-end, budgeting, and audit periods.
  • Occasional travel to other company locations may be required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment with extended periods of computer work

Requirements

Your Profile

  • You have a College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A CPA designation (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is considered an asset.
  • You bring a minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • You have experience preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and managing Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing functions.
  • You posses strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, payroll legislation, GST/PST, and CRA requirements.
  • You have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and working in a multi-site environment is an asset.
  • You posses strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, lead and develop a team, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You posses or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check & Child Abuse Registry Check.
