Job description

Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Office Clerk to join our team on a full-time temporary basis at our Administration Office located in St. Paul, AB. Reporting to the Office Coordinator. 

What you'll do:

  • Provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact through front-end reception and exceptional customer service.

  • Provide professional-level assistance to the Department Support Centre (DSC) Leaders and Team. 

  • Greet, answer, and redirect in-person, phone and email inquiries to the appropriate resource as needed.

  • Handle daily cash transactions and ensure accurate balancing of Point of Sale reports.

  • Utilize internal accounting software and other internal systems to complete administrative and financial tasks.

  • Equity support - assist completion of ownership applications; changes; and / or withdrawals

  • Account support - respond to general charge account inquiries.

  • Maintain accuracy, organization, and confidentiality while working with financial and business information.

  • Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's purpose, vision, mission, values, brand with a focus on safety. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are: 

  • You have a minimum Grade 12.

  • Completion of a post-secondary Office Education or Administration program, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, including accounting knowledge.

  • Advanced computer proficiency, with experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • You are able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including remaining seated for extended periods while working at a computer or workstation and regularly lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Experience with JD Edwards is considered an asset.

  • You are confident handling cash and working with financial information accurately.

  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Honest, trustworthy, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
