Job description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Hiring responsibility for all maintenance office and field personnel.
  • Oversee vendor work and billing on behalf of owners.
  • Ensure proper scheduling and workload of maintenance field staff.
  • Train in-house staff and organize training for field staff.
  • Handle issue resolution with property owners and guests relating to Maintenance.
  • Manage departmental employee timecards and approvals.
  • Communicate efficiently with other departmental heads.
  • Oversee Maintenance workorder charges.
  • Track and maintain stock and loaner item records.
  • Place stock orders with Purchasing Manager as needed.
  • Work with General Manager and Operations Manager on departmental budget.
  • Work to ensure owners and tenants needs are met and homes are maintained.
  • Ability to conduct basic home repairs and assist the maintenance techs with workorders in the field (i.e. troubleshooting, basic plumbing, carpentry, locks, HVAC, pool, dry wall repair, appliances, electrical, etc)

You are a person that (required skills):

  • 3+ years’ experience managing staff in excess of 5 people.
  • Experience as a maintenance technician or similar role
  • Individual must be highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products including Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • BS degree in management or another related field 
  • Property maintenance experience preferred

Physically you can anticipate to:

  • Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, lift up to 20 pounds, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time
  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation
