As a Driver Operator, you'll play a vital part in our daily operations, taking charge of safely operating heavy trucks and specialized equipment. Your responsibilities will include ensuring cargo is loaded and unloaded correctly, managing all necessary paperwork, and performing thorough inspections. Driver Operators are expected to take pride in maintaining their vehicle, stay on schedule, and communicate effectively with both our dispatch team and valued customers. It's important to know that this job can involve working in a dirty and physically demanding environment, so a willingness to handle strenuous physical labor is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, following traffic laws and regulations, and adhering to hours-of-service requirements
  •  Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly secured, and managing paperwork related to shipments
  •  Collect delivery instructions from dispatcher, verifying instructions and routes
  •  Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks
  •  Communicate with dispatchers and customers, maintain accurate trip logs, and document deliveries
  •  Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  •  Transport non-hazardous and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable guidelines, DOT, and company safety procedures
  •  Perform industrial work and biohazard cleanups
  •  Assist in the removal of soil, debris, and cleanup of spill sites
  •  Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • CDL Class A License
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Tanker Endorsement
  • Ability to read, write and do mathematics

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times
  • The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds
  • Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders
  • May occasionally deal with heights
  • Ability to wear Personal Equipment, including Respiratory Protection
  • Consists of both office setting and physical jobsite
  • Able to work in confined spaces when needed
