3rd Shift Transportation Clerk
Sunday - Thursday 10:30pm - 7:00am
Starting rate $20.80

The Warehouse Transportation Clerk will process and oversee a variety of processes associated with the repair and maintenance of our tractor trailer fleet.

 
  • Level of Formal Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), may include specialized or vocational courses.
  • Area of Study: transportation or technical school preferred
  • Years of Experience: One to two years.
  • Type of Experience: Payroll process; transportation operations; familiarity with DOT rules and regulations, Haz-Mat regulations; familiarity with a dispatch on board communications systems and routing software; ability to understand and solve transportation and logistics issues.
  • Special Certifications or Technical Skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.); analyze driver logs
  • Other/Preferred: Clerical fleet experience in a grocery or retail environment; customer focused, self-motivated, eager to learn.
  • Directly responsible for tracking a private fleet operation of over 25-100 drivers.
  • Daily and weekly reporting (payroll, delivery variance and expenses).
  • Monitor daily transportation activities proficiently and communicate opportunities for improvement or operation concerns.
  • Communicate to DC and Transportation Management on daily performance issues.
  • Meet or exceed service guidelines based on transportation department's performance in picking up or delivering freight from and to AutoZone's stores, vendors, or distribution centers.
