Accenture Sourcing & Procurement is growing and seeking to enhance our Equipment and Construction Center of Excellence with someone who fits our strong and vibrant culture. Whether identifying opportunities to reduce clients' equipment or construction costs, managing capital expenditure (CapEx) purchases, or proposing innovative solutions that curb the effect of soaring prices and longer lead times, Accenture's Sourcing & Procurement team delivers tangible business results for our clients - while also enhancing the employee experience, customer satisfaction, and community impact.

As an Equipment and Construction Management Manager, you will have a dedicated focus on Accenture's Equipment and Construction Center of Excellence to support all aspects of client-facing equipment and construction sourcing and cost optimization projects. You will be expected to develop relationships and work closely with executive stakeholders and suppliers to drive project initiatives. You will also lead a team of junior staff in problem solving, project management, and data analysis that will be the basis for strategic client decision making. Finally, you will play a leadership role in deepening the expertise of Accenture's Equipment and Construction Center of Excellence and capturing knowledge to support business development opportunities while helping scale Accenture's equipment and construction capabilities.

The work:

Project Execution

  • Develop and nurture relationships with senior-level client stakeholders, including procurement executives, project managers, and construction leadership.

  • Create robust sourcing strategies and cost-out recommendations specifically for equipment, capital expenditures, and construction services.

  • Provide thought leadership and benchmarking across mission critical equipment, construction spend, and general contractor/subcontractor engagements.

  • Synthesize disparate data sources (spend analytics, supplier bids, market benchmarks) into actionable insights and clear deliverables.

  • Work together with clients to identify and interpret key project requirements tied to CapEx purchases, contractor scopes, and project timelines.

  • Facilitate development of project plans and overall project management to ensure effective delivery of construction sourcing initiatives and capital equipment procurement projects.

  • Coordinate with subject matter experts within and outside of the firm to address cost, quality, schedule, and risk considerations.

  • Work with contractors, consultants, and internal/external resources to align priorities, accomplish objectives, and satisfy all stakeholders.

  • Exhibit integrity in decisions and firm relationships.

  • Achieve excellence and dependability through the execution of projects and initiatives.

  • Limited travel as needed

Business Development

  • Support sales calls by bringing equipment and construction category expertise to client discussions.

  • Develop sales-support materials tailored to CapEx, construction spend optimization, and general contractor sourcing.

  • Provide thought leadership in equipment and construction procurement with the goal of establishing Accenture as a trusted partner in these categories.

  • Support development and review of client equipment and construction spend summaries, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and savings.

  • Work with the team to identify and assess opportunities for savings through CapEx leverage, contractor negotiations, subcontractor rationalization, and market benchmarking.

Practice Development

  • Create and curate deliverable content (decks, models, case studies, whitepapers, etc.) to capture equipment and construction sourcing knowledge, CapEx procurement strategies, and contractor engagement best practices.

  • Contribute to the Equipment and Construction Center of Excellence's strategic decisions and direction through subject matter insights.

  • Develop and execute strategies to aggregate data for ongoing benchmarking, insight generation, and data analysis across construction and capital projects.

  • Assist with ongoing development and management of intellectual capital within the Equipment and Construction Center of Excellence.

  • Demonstrate a self-starter mindset and proactively take initiative to learn, grow, and advance projects in equipment and construction sourcing.

  • Bring strong experience with Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint) products, including the ability to develop and interpret complex analytical models and ad-hoc reports tied to CapEx and construction spend.

  • Coach and mentor junior team members both on your projects and in the Center of Excellence including providing feedback, engaging in professional development conversations, and writing performance reviews

Travel Requirements

Travel is required for this role and could vary from 10-50%.

Here's what you need:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience executing strategic sourcing projects/programs

  • Minimum 7 years' experience developing and executingcost optimization strategies

  • Minimum 4 years' experience working withdata analytics tools(e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI) with experience building dashboards and models

  • Management consulting experience with a well-regarded firm

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have a minimum of 6 years' work experience)

Bonus points if:

  • Proven client-facing skills and are proficient at building and nurturing client relationships

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present comfortably to senior executives

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

  • Demonstrated abilities in problem solving and independent decision-making capabilities.

  • Self-starter mindset and bias towards proactively taking initiative to learn, grow, and advance projects

  • You excel at planning and managing multiple projects, tasks, and initiatives simultaneously

  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment and a capacity for innovation and process improvement

  • Prior experience in driving insights using visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) and analytics tools (i.e., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)

  • You have earned an MBA or equivalent graduate degree

  • Equipment or Construction Sourcing Manager with Consulting Experience - prior consulting firm experience combined with hands-on knowledge of equipment or construction sourcing or project execution.

  • Mission Critical Equipment / CapEx Procurement Manager - background in procurement management/directorship from industries with significant capital equipment investments.

  • Construction Services / General Contractor / Subcontractor SME - background in operations, cost estimation, financial analysis, procurement, construction management, engineering, or supply chain management. MEP engineer (Mechanical, Electrical)

  • Industry Backgrounds - applicants from the High Tech, Data Center, Life Sciences, Utilities, and Industrials industries are preferred
