Job description

Department
The Office of Research is looking to fill the role of Program Manager for the IGNITE Incubation Program .
The IGNITE Incubation Program promotes, encourages, and enhances the research activities of FSU faculty, staff, and students, and brings together the strengths of FSU and the region, providing a critical interface to move university and community research into the marketplace, stimulate high-tech and biotech industries, and create jobs. Clients are FSU faculty, staff, and students; small business owners; and technology and economic development leaders in the community, especially representatives of government, business, and industry.
Responsibilities
The IGNITE Program Manager ensures successful delivery of IGNITE Entrepreneurial Support by managing projects and resource requirements, monitoring and reporting on project progress, assessing results, and facilitating responsible team members to take action to meet deliverables within scope and budget. The Program Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining processes and procedures for this incubator program. The IGNITE Program Manager provides oversight of reporting, systems, and cross-functional initiatives to ensure programs operate efficiently and achieve goals.
Responsibilities include:
  • Program Execution and Onboarding: Leads the operational lifecycle for various programs within IGNITE Tallahassee in alignment with the Program Director and organizational priorities. Manage delivery of entrepreneurial and innovation support programming such as seminar series, workshops, courses, funding opportunities, and other events. Oversee onboarding, reporting, and tracking from prospect application to member participation. Coordinate mentor cohorts, advisor networks, peer-to-peer founder cohorts.
  • Project Reporting and Data Management: Proactively monitor program performance and outcomes. Prepare reporting for program metrics, federal grant funding requirements, economic impact, and ad-hoc project reports. Develops and maintain databases, systems, and tracking tools that support timely and effective stakeholder engagement. Identify risks, dependencies, and potential barriers to delivery and adjusts priorities to meet commitments. Ensures data integrity and accuracy.
  • Relationship Management: Manage cross-functional alignment across leadership, clients, staff, faculty, partners to maintains accountability for project status and communicates any potential delay, situation or concern that may affect the outcome of the project. Serves as interdepartmental liaison on Division of Research projects. Communicates project status, escalates risk, and resolves conflicts with stakeholders.
  • Operational Administration: Preforms day-to-day incubator operations including process documentation, drafting and processing agreements, and program intake. Prepares presentations on the program's reach, scope, and impact. Supports general program intake and serves as project manager for collaborations while being the official record keeper for meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned as it relates to the success of IGNITE.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years' experience related to administrative services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Preferred Qualifications
Four years' experience in incubator/accelerator programs, project management, or related agile environments highly desired.
