Job description

At Everbridge, our mission is to help organizations protect people and maintain business continuity during critical events. Our Critical Event Management (CEM) Platform enables customers worldwide to respond to emergencies through real-time communication and intelligent automation.

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our platform engineering team. In this role, you’ll design, build, and operate highly scalable cloud-native services that power mission-critical applications used around the globe.

Our technology stack includes Scala, .NET Core/C#, React, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and AWS. We're also an AI-first engineering organization, where AI-assisted development, automation, and intelligent workflows are core to how we build and deliver software.

What you'll do:
  • Design, build, and support scalable microservices, APIs, and modern web applications.
  • Own features from design through production, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, and Engineering to deliver customer value.
  • Improve platform observability, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and engineering automation.
  • Mentor teammates through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate development, improve software quality, reduce repetitive work, and continuously enhance engineering practices.
What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with .NET Core/C#, Scala, Java, or similar backend technologies.
  • Experience building distributed systems, microservices, or cloud-native SaaS applications on AWS.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, REST APIs, and React or Angular.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, engineering ownership, and a passion for building reliable software.
  • Experience using AI developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar, with an interest in applying AI to code generation, testing, debugging, documentation, and engineering automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
AI-First Engineering

At Everbridge, AI is an integral part of our engineering culture. We expect engineers to thoughtfully incorporate AI into their daily workflows while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and maintainability. You'll be encouraged to experiment with emerging AI capabilities, create reusable prompts and workflows, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and help shape how AI improves developer productivity across the organization.
