COMPANY OVERVIEW BranchOut, is the largest professional networking service on Facebook. BranchOut allows users to leverage their extended Facebook friend network to identify inside connections for incredible opportunities such as finding a job, recruiting great talent, getting warm introductions for sales leads, or expanding the power of their professional network. BranchOut also operates as the largest job board on Facebook with over 3 million jobs and 20,000 internships.

BranchOut is backed by Accel Partners, Norwest Venture Partners, Floodgate and several of the most prominent angel investors in Silicon Valley. DESCRIPTION The BranchOut team is a small group where everyone is part of the creative process. The ideal candidate is creative yet pragmatic, comfortable multitasking yet able to focus on a problem with laser-like intensity, and (above all) a fast learner.

Our codebase is written in Java, but we're not really looking for heavy J2EE expertise. A few years experience with high-traffic web-development patterns is much more important, regardless of the stack. You may, however, be asked to provide a code sample in Java.

RESPONSIBILITIES Integrating features with various third-party APIs, including Facebook Graph API Designing custom search functionality with Lucene Working closely with product design and front end UI to perfect user experience and reduce friction Brainstorming new features and product directions (if you work at BranchOut, your input is valued, no matter what your job title is) Improving in-house analytics tools and merging performance metrics from a variety of sources Develop overall strategies and implement scaling solutions REQUIREMENTS Java, J2EE Expertise. 5+ years development experience, preferably working with high-traffic web-development patterns or on the Facebook platform.
