ADVANCED CARDIAC IMAGING
UK King’s Daughters, Ashland, Ky.
UK King’s Daughters, a 455-bed regional referral center in Ashland, has been the healthcare home for eastern Kentucky since 1899. Physicians at UK King’s Daughters practice within an extremely supportive environment that emphasizes excellent care, collaboration, and physician input. Physicians hold key, decision-making positions, guiding initiatives ranging from strategic planning and EHR functionality to physician recruitment and population health. Our service includes more than 20 cardiologists, including structural heart; four EPs; three endovascular surgeons; two cardiothoracic surgeons; and three IR physicians. Physicians are supported by a team of nearly 40 advanced practice providers (APPs) working collaboratively to provide care throughout eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio.
SERVICES
Our advanced cardiac imaging service includes: 
• Two dedicated cardiac CT scanners, in Ashland
(Siemens SOMATOM FORCE) and
Paintsville (Philips Spectral CT 7500) 
• A dedicated cardiac MR in Ashland (Siemens MAGNETOM 
Aera)
• Interventional echocardiography
• Vascular CT & MRA 
• Nuclear cardiology (SPECT/PET)
• HeartFlow 
EXCELLENCE IN HEART CARE
Our Heart Program has earned American College of Cardiology’s Chest Pain Center, Electrophysiology, and Heart Failure accreditations and is ACC certified in Transcatheter Valve Replacement. UK King’s Daughters is the only hospital in the region to earn the ACC’s HeartCARE Center of Excellence 
designation.

As part of the University of Kentucky, we host resident rotations in ob/gyn; emergency medicine; and family medicine. In 2026, we 
will welcome our first cohort of internal medicine residents.
