About ThrivePoint Academy of Utah:

ThrivePoint Academy Utah (TPAU) is currently hiring for its Student Success Coach position(s). Individuals hired in this position will join our team of education professionals in preparation for serving students in grades 7–12 and families across the state of Utah.

Immediate efforts will be focused on serving the communities in and around the greater Salt Lake City area.

Job Summary:

As a Student Success Coach (SSC), you will serve as a vital bridge between our students and their academic goals. SSCs are experts at building strong relationships with students, providing academic support, and assisting them in navigating the path to postsecondary readiness. While SSCs are not teachers, they play a pivotal role in monitoring student progress and offering personalized support in 1:1 and small group settings both in-person and online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with student enrollment and growth efforts
  • Promote the school’s brand locally at community events, job fairs, through local colleges/universities, etc.
  • Assist in the facilitation of student information sessions, enrollment events, student orientations, and other student-centric activities as assigned
  • Establish Strong Student Relationships: Develop meaningful connections with assigned students and act as their primary point of contact at ThrivePoint Academy.
  • Academic Support: Provide academic support, both in 1:1 and small group settings, to help students succeed in their coursework.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor student progress in their online courses, ensuring they are on track to meet their academic goals.
  • Attendance and Progress Records: Maintain accurate attendance and course progress records to ensure a comprehensive overview of student performance.
  • Bi-Weekly Communication: Communicate bi-weekly with students, parents/guardians, and team members to provide updates on student progress and engagement strategies.
  • Team Collaboration: Meet weekly as a team to discuss and debrief student achievement, engagement strategies, and to further develop a strong team culture.
  • Course Progress: Ensure that students make adequate progress on all courses, whether they need to complete, accelerate, or make up credits in pursuit of their high school diploma.
  • Postsecondary Readiness: Provide engaging opportunities for students that align with their postsecondary goals, whether related to workforce readiness, the armed forces, colleges, or career pursuits.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or (Bachelor's preferred)
  • Possess or be eligible to obtain Utah background clearance/fingerprint card
  • Experience in education, counseling, or student support services
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to connect with and engage students effectively
  • Proficiency in monitoring student progress and using relevant tools and systems
  • A passion for helping students achieve postsecondary success
