Division of Academic and Student Affairs
The Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA) is where students discover connections and community. The division serves all students at NC State through three integrated components: academic affairs, student affairs, and University College.

The Office of Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes (ASPSA) is a comprehensive support program that strives to meet the academic, personal and professional development needs of all student-athletes, promoting excellence and effectiveness in undergraduate and graduate education as well as leadership and civic engagement.
ASPSA is committed to extending the educational experience of its constituency with particular emphasis on empowering student-athletes to become strong self-advocates. We provide specialized initiatives to facilitate a smooth transition from high school to college and from college to professional life while successfully integrating student-athletes into the campus community. We strive to enhance academic skills for all student-athletes and provide personalized academic support to meet the needs of each student-athlete.
ASPSA maintains a strong sense of integrity and will continue to strive to be one of the benchmark programs for academic support for all collegiate academic support programs in the nation.
Mentor Position
The primary role of a mentor is to meet with the assigned student-athlete to develop and improve time management skills and productive study habits.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist student-athletes to set academic goals (short and long term)
Assist student-athletes with requesting Disability Services Office (DSO) accommodations, if needed
Effectively communicate in a timely manner
Participate in group training and supervision meetings
