The University of California, San Francisco Fresno Medical Education Program and Central California Faculty Medical Group (CCFMG), dba Inspire Health, are recruiting for a Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon with a concurrent leadership role as Associate Program Director (APD) for the UCSF Fresno General Surgery Residency Program at Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Fresno, California.
This position offers a unique opportunity for an accomplished academic surgeon with a passion for surgical education, mentorship, and residency leadership. The selected candidate will join a collaborative academic faculty dedicated to excellence in patient care, resident education, scholarly activity, and community engagement, with the opportunity for future advancement to Program Director leadership.
The candidate will provide comprehensive clinical care in Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care at Community Regional Medical Center, a 650-bed academically affiliated regional referral center, Level I Trauma Center, and Burn Center serving California’s Central Valley.
Clinical responsibilities include:In addition to clinical responsibilities, the selected candidate will serve as Associate Program Director for the UCSF Fresno General Surgery Residency Program and will work collaboratively with the Program Director, Department Chair, Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership, and faculty to support the educational mission and continued success of the residency program, fulfilling responsibilities in accordance with standards set by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Academic EnvironmentThe UCSF Fresno Surgery Residency Program is a fully accredited university-affiliated training program committed to excellence in surgical education, patient care, research, and community engagement. Fresno is a vibrant and diverse community located in California’s Central Valley, within close proximity to Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks and approximately three hours from San Francisco and the Central Coast.
Compensation - Salary and faculty appointment will be commensurate with experience. For positions exclusively funded by the affiliate organization: Inspire Health has provided a reasonable compensation estimate for this position: $325,000–$400,000.
