This is a full-time 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) position requiring weekend availability.
This position is eligible for full benefits (medical, dental & vision), 401K, paid vacation, discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, hotel and restaurant discounts and more.
SUMMARY:
Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations, with a large focus on beverage and food operations while maintaining our AHC Hospitality standards, in addition to AC Hotel by Marriott brand standards. We are looking for self-starters with a proven track record of providing exceptional guest service, building teams, meeting budgets, working knowledge of P&L statements, and cost/inventory controls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure excellence in guest service while overseeing all Beverage & Food as the primary function of the role in addition to keeping a professional pulse within Front Office, Guest Services, Parking, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering functions.
- Understand the mission, vision, and game plan of AHC Hospitality, along with the Marriott and AC Hotels brands.
- Create and sustain a work environment that embraces AHC Hospitality and AC by Marriott brand cultures; ensure fair and equitable treatment and associate satisfaction to enable business success
- Tour and visually inspect property on a daily basis. Monitor property cleanliness, quality of product and service throughout hotel.
- Conduct, under the guidance of the General Manager, such functions as interviewing, hiring, employee orientation, performance appraisals and coaching and counseling as necessary to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity.
- Represent company to local businesses, colleges, government, and other trades. Be an ambassador to our local community focusing on continuous and consistent corporate social responsibility efforts.
- Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems.
- Active participation in budgeting/forecasting and profit maximization. Duties include writing and reviewing reports (profit and loss statements/critiques, yield management, capital planning, payroll, etc.); understanding of our purchasing system and inventory controls/process within all departments and purchasing team.
- Work on solid relationship with all vendors and always ensure we are getting best products and service from each of our vendors.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and brand goals.
- Achieve and maintain optimal brand awareness in addition to achieving and maintaining elite guest service, inspection, and loyalty brand scores.
- Must be able to work in collaboration with the other AHC Hospitality properties and brands to ensure quality compliance within the corporation.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the local market, including demand generators, competitor strategies, and community impact opportunities.
- Work to determine areas of concern and develop strategies to improve performance.
- Coach and support hotel team to effectively manage occupancy and rates, wages and controllable expenses.
- Manage costs within the hotel; including supplies, utilities, and labor expenses, within budgeted parameters, combining with sales/revenue to deliver an efficient and profitable operation.
- Analyze any service issues and identify trends. Facilitate the development of creative solutions to overcome obstacles and ensure implementation to continually improve guest satisfaction results.
- Ensure property is a safe and secure facility for guests and associates.
- Orientates and trains associates per AC by Marriott Guidelines for Operations.
- Follow and Maintain QA specs as well as enforces with staff.
- Follow and Maintain Health Department Specs and enforces with the staff.
- Maintain all recipe specifications are being followed.
- Inspects kitchen, coolers, freezers, bar, and storage areas for proper rotation of product and cleanliness.
- Monitor all equipment and submits repair orders to Engineering.
- Verify all beverage and food logs and self-audits are kept up to date and accurate.
- Monitor all labor costs for kitchen and stewarding. Also assists with payroll for culinary and stewarding.
- Actively manage coverage for the outlets and ensure flexibility in working the line as a support to the teams inclusive of training or developmental opportunities.
- Conducting daily affirmations or pre-shift meetings with the staff.
- Stay current and up to date with required brand trainings, brand standards, and brand initiatives.
- Must be or become ServSafe, Allergen, and Alcohol Safety certified.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Previous prep or line cook experience.
- Professional communication skills are required.
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized.
- Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum three years related hospitality management experience required.
- 4-year degree preferred.
- 2+ years minimum in the role of Department Manager preferred.
- Previous experience in branded hotels.
- Strong F&B background and strong Rooms background.
- Serve Safe certification and Alcohol Safety trained.
