Job description

The Oncology Data Specialist-Certified is responsible for complete and accurate abstracting of cancer data in accordance with the American College of Surgeons requirements and the Florida Cancer Data system. The incumbent identifies applicable cases for inclusion in the registry (case- finding), abstract and lifetime follow-up of cancer cases diagnosed and/or treated at Tampa General Hospital. This position also assists with various department activities including but not limited to tumor conferences, Cancer Committee meetings, CoC preparation for accreditation and survey, RCRS submissions and FCDS reporting.

  • Associate's Degree in Arts or Science 

  • Oncology Data Specialist-Certified: If currently enrolled into an approved program, you must obtain their certification within first year of employment

  • Minimum of one year cancer registry abstracting experience in a Commission on Cancer (CoC) approved Cancer Registry.

  • Experience Cancer Registry Software (CNEXT/Oncology)
