Job description

In this position, you will get to apply manufacturing automation leadership experience to evaluate, define and optimize manufacturing processes and systems to improve: safety, quality, OEE, production rates/efficiencies, yields, costs, changeovers, and process capability.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS ROLE:
  • Own the design, implementation, and commissioning of automated manufacturing production lines applying the appropriate technology.
  • Use strong electrical and mechanical machine design skills and develop technical requirements and specifications for outside vendors to bid and construct custom machines.
  • Lead vendor selection and facilitate the implementation of new automation systems and manufacturing methods.
  • Lead and drive automation projects across multiple sites with a focus in our high growth parts of the business.
  • Research new manufacturing methods and trends to bring innovation into new technology into nVent manufacturing including vision systems and machine learning technology.
  • Participate on multi-functional teams and engage global leaders in the company to ensure the design for manufacturability of our current and future products.
  • Continuously improve our factory automation systems and optimize them for safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Assure the quality of manufactured goods through the implementation of in-process inspections and meticulous statistical process controls.

YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or other related technical degree required.
  • 8+ years of experience developing factory automation systems and experience working globally to scale them across an enterprise is preferred.
  • Ability to think differently about processes, influence, push the envelope, benchmark what great looks like, and execute projects.
  • Experience educating non-technical leaders on what is possible through automated solutions.
  • Hands-on experience developing custom automated solutions and/or robotic systems (ABB or Fanuc preferred)
  • Familiarity with control systems, PLC's (Siemens or Allen Bradley preferred) and control components.
  • Experience developing multi-year process strategies.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
$89,300.00 - $165,800.00
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
