Job description

Description:
Shakopee Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE, Center-Based Special Education (SpEd) Teacher to serve students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) at the elementary school level (grades K-5) for the 2026-2027 school year.
Job Summary:
Deliver direct and indirect services to students with learning and/or social, emotional and behavioral needs; monitor and document student progress; develop/manage IEPs and facilitate team meetings; oversee paraprofessionals and collaborate with families and other staff on services and strategies.
Qualifications:





  • Current and valid MN teaching license in ASD, EBD, DCD or ABS
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff

Salary can range anywhere between $52,020 to $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.

Working Conditions:
Physical ability to attend to personal care needs of students, if necessary. Classroom, office, lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, keyboarding, etc.
