Job description

Description:

Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute (LTS) Center-based DCD Special Education (SpEd) Teacher to join the amazing staff at Sun Path Elementary School from approximately October 1, 2026, to February 15, 2027.

Job Summary:

Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in a center-based classroom setting, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of paraprofessionals(s).
Provides instruction in the content areas in accordance with each student's ability, creates a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establishes effective working relationships with students and parents, works collaboratively with other staff members.
Education/Training/Experience:



  • Require MN licensure in special education EBD, DCD, SLD, ASD or ABS.
  • NVCI (CPI) training preferred.
  • Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students. Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district.
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.

Daily pay ranges from $289.00 to $403.76 depending upon level of education.
