Job description

This opening is for 2nd Shift - 7p to 3:45am with mandatory daily OT and possible Saturdays.

$1.50 shift differential for hours worked on 2nd Shift in addition to base rate.

Primary Job Function: Responsible for assigned manufacturing tasks, which include using equipment or tools to weld and assemble parts according to customer specifications. Responsible for safety, quality of work, production, and material flow.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Follow all standard work procedures.
  2. Meet production requirements and complete all production sheets.
  3. Stop, call, & wait for all abnormal conditions.
  4. Follow all safety procedures and communicate issues with the Team Lead/Group Lead.
  5. Perform required quality checks.
  6. Participate in a manufacturing system emphasizing teamwork, safety training, and discipline.
  7. Utilize TPS techniques to standardize processes/methods, identify waste, methodically eliminate waste, and standardize the new process/methods.
  8. Maintain daily 5S in the work area and equipment.
  9. Work well with other team members.
  10. Understand and work by the TB Way philosophy.
  11. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  12. Can sit, stand, and walk for continuous periods of time
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Conditions:

Plant:

  • Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, etc., may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
  • Temperature-controlled environment
  • Team Members are exposed to sharp metal objects that are heated during welding process. As such, Team Members are required to wear heat protective gloves and sleeves that are made from an XKS nylon material. The PPE is designed to cover all of arms and hands and can become hot during summer months.

Physical Demands:

Capable of standing 100% of the time and must be able to bend, walk, & lift up to 30 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to grip tools and objects, stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; using hands to finger, handle, feel, twist, walk, twisting (standing), bend at the waist, do repetitive motions, talk and hear. The team member must occasionally kneel, work from heights, and crouch. The team member must frequently lift and/or move five to fifteen pounds. The team member must regularly lift twenty to thirty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over thirty pounds with the assistance of a mechanical device or another team member. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear.
