Job Description
Job Summary:
Repairs accident-related damage to vehicles, restoring them to pre-collision condition in accordance with industry standards and factory specifications. AutoBody Express Body Technicians are essential to the repair process and must be able to perform quality repairs in a timely manner, always keeping the customer's satisfaction in mind.
Essential Functions:
  1. Examines damaged vehicle and efficiently plans repair process;
  2. Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair status;
  3. Performs quality repairs; while keeping in mind on-time status;
  4. Makes decisions on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost and cycle time
  5. Participates in all required safety meetings;
  6. Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools;
  7. Directs the work of an apprentice in the performance of tasks when needed, i.e., unusual problems or questions, explaining procedures to the apprentice, etc

Qualifications
  1. Ability to use frame machine;
  2. Certification in body repair preferred;
  3. Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer;
  4. I-CAR welding certified;
  5. Skilled in analyzing and interpreting measuring data;
  6. Ability to supervise repair personnel;
  7. Must be able to pass thorough background check;

Additional Information
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee is required to read and interpret and follow processes and procedures. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an open cubicle environment. Candidate must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
