Job description

The Rubicon Landscape Day Porter works under the general supervision of the Crew Leader, acting as the primary source of labor to perform various tasks related to the maintenance of the landscaped grounds. This is a part-time to full-time, non-exempt position.

**This position is offered through our Ability One program which employs people with disabilities. Federal law requires that Rubicon obtain certain medical and vocational information to document each employee’s eligibility for the program.

Location: 4951 Arroyo Road, Livermore, CA 94550

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Pick up and dispose of trash, litter and debris; replace liners as needed and clean containers.
  • Blow and/or sweep entrances, sidewalks and ramps; remove spills and stains from entrances and sidewalks.
  • Remove cigarette butts and clean ash trays as needed.
  • Help clean and prepare vehicles for next service day; includes inspecting equipment before use to ensure proper and safe operation and reporting problems to the Crew Leader and/or Supervisor.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting unsafe work conditions or practices to the Crew Leader and/or Supervisor.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Basic knowledge or landscape maintenance techniques and methods; basic proficiency using hand tools; blowers, rakes and brooms and driving a cart safely and efficiently.
  • Teamwork, interpersonal flexibility, willingness and ability to receive and act on instruction from supervisors.
  • Customer service approach and regular and reliable attendance.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bend and/or kneel up to 10% of the time.
  • Lift, reach, carry, push, pull: up to 50 pounds and up to 50% of the time.
  • Stand, walk up to 90% of the time.
  • Must be able to work outside during all seasons of the year.
COMPENSATION:  
  • $19-20/hour.
