Ringoes, NJ | Part Time, Hourly | $23-$25 per hour

We are looking for an Ability Program Instructor to join our team at the Y! We spend our days positively impacting the community around us. We help young adults increase independence through community based activities, job skill exploration, and healthy living experiences.

What is needed for this job as our One on One Ability Program Aid:

  • 21+ years of age
  • 1+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work with others

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our One on One Ability Program Aid:

  • Safely supervise and lead participants through provided activities
  • Adapting program activities to suit each participant's needs
  • Positively engage and interact with participants while encouraging positive socialization between participants
  • Reinforce positive behaviors, teach proper sportsmanship and bring enthusiasm to every shift
  • Acknowledge different learning styles and meet the needs of each participant
  • Develop strong relationships with participants and their families through communication and actions
  • Provide feedback to participants and parents/guardians on individual performance
  • Maintain confidentiality of all participants
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures; provide care in an emergency, document all incidents and accidents and report to your supervisor
  • Attend training, organizational and staff meetings as required by your supervisor
