What is an ABA Support Coordinator?

ABA Support Coordinators are professionals who help manage and oversee Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for individuals, often children, with autism or other developmental disorders. They serve as a liaison between families, therapists, and service providers to ensure that treatment plans are implemented effectively. Their duties typically include coordinating services, monitoring progress, facilitating communication, and ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices. ABA Support Coordinators play a crucial role in helping clients achieve their behavioral and developmental goals.

What are some common challenges an ABA Support Coordinator faces when managing multiple client cases?

ABA Support Coordinators often juggle several client cases simultaneously, which requires strong organizational and communication skills. A common challenge is ensuring consistent collaboration between therapists, families, and other providers while keeping documentation up to date. Coordinators must also adapt quickly when client needs change and be proactive in resolving scheduling conflicts or gaps in services. Building trust with families and effectively communicating progress are key to overcoming these challenges and promoting optimal client outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ABA Support Coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ABA Support Coordinator, you need a background in behavioral health, experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, and often a relevant bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field. Familiarity with data collection tools, case management software, and sometimes RBT or BCaBA certification is important. Exceptional organizational skills, empathy, and strong communication abilities help in supporting clients, collaborating with teams, and managing care plans. These skills and qualities are crucial for effectively coordinating services, ensuring client progress, and facilitating positive outcomes in behavioral intervention programs.

If you thrive on helping others and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, this is your moment.

The Role
As a Care Coordinator, you’ll be the key connection between families, clinicians, and technicians—helping ensure care is delivered seamlessly. You’ll manage schedules, troubleshoot service issues, and provide consistent, clear communication with parents and staff. You’ll also support insurance follow-ups and administrative needs that keep families supported and providers focused.

This is a frontline operations role with real impact. You’ll be trusted to solve problems, anticipate needs, and ensure no detail gets missed. For someone who takes pride in clear communication, fast follow-up, and meaningful work—there’s room to grow quickly.

What You’ll Do
• Serve as the go-to contact for families, providers, and BCBAs
• Manage provider-parent schedules, cancellations, and service changes
• Log services accurately and on time to support payroll and billing workflows
• Handle provider questions related to admin, billing, or scheduling
• Follow up urgently on insurance issues to avoid delays in care
• Keep families informed, reassured, and supported throughout the care journey
• Anticipate issues before they become problems and resolve them quickly

What We’re Looking For
• Experience in care coordination, healthcare admin, or ABA (strongly preferred)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Confident using phone, text, and email to connect with families and staff
• Calm under pressure and detail-oriented in fast-paced situations
• Compassionate, responsive, and committed to high-quality service

Why United Care ABA
• Competitive pay
• Newly renovated Brooklyn office
• Join a high-growth startup with real advancement opportunity
• Help build something that truly matters from the ground up
