What are some common challenges faced by AAPD (Americans with Disabilities Act Policy Development) professionals when advocating for workplace accessibility improvements?

AAPD professionals often encounter challenges such as balancing organizational budget constraints with the need for accessibility upgrades, navigating complex legal requirements, and fostering buy-in among stakeholders unfamiliar with disability inclusion best practices. They must also stay updated on evolving ADA regulations and develop effective communication strategies to educate teams and leadership about the importance of accessibility. Collaborating across departments—including facilities, HR, and IT—is key to overcoming these challenges and implementing sustainable changes.
