These roles are often found in schools, healthcare settings, and rehabilitation centers, where they support individuals with conditions like autism, cerebral palsy, or aphasia.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of an AAC specialist?

An AAC Specialist’s daily routine often involves conducting assessments to determine communication needs, recommending and customizing AAC devices, and providing training to users and their families or caregivers. They collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including speech-language pathologists, educators, and occupational therapists—to develop and implement effective communication support plans.
