General Summary of Duties:

The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for managing daily operations. This role will be responsible for recruiting, training and managing the front of the house team, including adjusting staffing levels in order to control labor costs without sacrificing service. Additionally, this role will oversee the inventory and ordering of supplies, monitoring daily cash, revenue, optimizing profits and ensuring that guests are satisfied with their dining experience. This role requires a passion for music and a strong beverage background.


Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):

  • Understand and implement the philosophy of management and owner
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef and Beverage Team to ensure all food and beverage offerings are well executed, relevant, and aligned with the concept
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff to synchronize music with specific events, promotions, or themes
  • Collaborate with Marketing and other stakeholders to ensure reputational success and evolution
  • Conduct constant inspection and evaluation of dining rooms, food reception, preparation, production, and storage areas
  • Control restaurant functions costs, emphasizing an ambiance that blends classic and contemporary design elements
  • Develop the FOH Management team by providing regular feedback, coaching, and opportunities for growth
  • Display consistent attention to detail and follow through of all restaurant policies
  • Drive sales and profitability while managing a unique dining concept, ensuring an immersive and thematic experience for our guests
  • Drive VIP relationships and serve as an ambassador for the restaurant and brand to foster repeat guests
  • Ensure effective hiring, onboarding, training, and management of associates
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations
  • Lead service with a strong presence in the restaurant, ensuring service standards meet or exceed all applicable brand, hotel, luxury service standards and outside accreditation sources including but not limited to; Forbes, Mobil 5-star, AAA Five Diamond, TripAdvisor and Wine Spectator
  • Maintain awareness of current music trends, emerging artists, and popular genres to ensure a fresh and exciting playlist
  • Offer positive solutions to problems or issues and be a voice that is part of the decision-making team
  • Perform additional duties and projects assigned
  • Plan, organize and book musicians and promotional experiences
  • Prioritize an exceptional auditory experience as a key feature of our establishment, reflecting a growing trend in music appreciation
  • Responsible for collecting and purchasing of the ever-growing vinyl collection
  • Responsible for ensuring restaurants appearance meets or exceeds standards as well as maintains compliance with all health and safety regulations at all times
  • Review financial information, monitor budgets, ensure efficient operations, and take action to correct any deviations from budget limitations
  • Take ownership and implement retention strategies for growth in associate morale


Position Requirements:

  • 8+ years of combined management and service experience, preferably in a specialty restaurant environment with a focus on service, entertainment and leadership
  • A deep understanding of music diversity, collections and collaboration
  • A strong appreciation for unique dining experiences and an eye for detail in decor and ambiance
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to change
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Completely understand all programs, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs
  • Must have working knowledge of point-of-sale systems, ideally Toast
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
  • Proven experience in managing a premium restaurant or bar with an innovative and thematic focus
  • Strong analytical, decision-making and problem- solving skills
  • Strong customer service experience, interpersonal, and communication skills are required


Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management preferred
