Job description

Hillcrest Youth Services is currently seeking a 1st Shift, Weekends,ย PRN (part-time, as-needed) Youth Worker to join our team of dedicated professionals. This role is responsible for the supervision and support of youth in our residential program.

WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Supervision of residents.
  • Work schedule:ย First Shift 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.ย Applicants must be available a minimum of three (3) days per month. A 2-week training program (Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM) is required upon hire.ย ย 
  • Ability to be a positive role model.
  • Provide fair and constructive discipline to the residents.
  • Maintain security and safety of facility and residents at all times.
  • Maintain complete and accurate resident records.
  • Ability to manage personal stress.
  • Administer appropriate medication(s).
  • Knowledge of policy and procedure manual.
  • Transportation of residents.
  • Maintain laundry and general cleaning for each unit.
  • Ability to work with youth of all ages.
  • Screen all admissions/referrals for appropriateness of Hillcrest's programming.

WHAT'S REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED required.ย  Bachelor degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a closely related Human Services field is highly preferred.
  • Work schedule:ย First Shift 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.ย ย Applicants must be available a minimum of three (3) days per month.ย A 2-week training program (Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM) is required upon hire.ย ย 
  • Previous work with juveniles highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must have valid driver's license and qualify for Company's vehicle liability insurance.
  • Candidates must pass required background checks including county/state checks, fingerprinting, CPS check, sex offender registry check, and drug screen.
