We are seeking a full-time HIM (Health Information Management) Assistant to add to our team of professionals. This position provides information about patients and/or access to protected health information and maintains the accuracy, security, and integrity of health information.

WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?
  • Releases protected health information to authorized individuals while adhering to company guidelines.
  • Scans and files all paper documents in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Assists with department projects as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service to clients, the public, and treatment providers.
  • Promotes a teamwork approach within the HIM department.

WHAT'S REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?
  • Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Prior medical office experience and Electronic Health Record experience is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines is required.
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of computers and more specifically Microsoft Excel, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and be detailed oriented.
  • Candidates must pass required background checks including county/state checks, CPS check, sex offender registry check, and drug screen.
