Description

We are currently seeking a Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) with a specialty in Emergency Medicine . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to healthcare facilities in Fredericksburg. Your expertise in emergency medicine will be vital in ensuring quality patient care and efficient emergency response.

As a Locum MD or DO, you will be involved in a variety of emergency medicine projects, responding to acute medical needs, stabilizing patients, and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver timely and effective treatment. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in emergency care while gaining valuable experience in diverse medical settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency medical situations promptly and provide immediate care to patients.
  • Assess patients' conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Perform medical procedures as necessary, such as intubation, wound care, and suturing.
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document all medical interventions, patient progress, and treatment plans accurately.
  • Adhere to medical protocols, guidelines, and safety standards at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members to address concerns and provide updates on patient status.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment strategies.
Requirements:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Proven experience working in emergency departments or urgent care settings.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to make quick, accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different healthcare settings and schedules.
  • Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
  • Facility: Standalone emergency department, fully equipped trauma bay, 11 private treatment rooms
  • Fully integrated with nearby medical center
  • Patient Census: 8,500 annually, 23 daily
  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible
  • Paid travel & expenses

Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a

Facility: Standalone emergency department, fully equipped trauma bay, 11 private treatment rooms
