Job description

Purpose
Oversee all Tool Room activities supporting production & engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
First line supervisor of tool room machining operation to include tool & die build & repair, precision grinding, preventative tool maintenance, etc. Provide leadership and supervises the hourly tool room team. Ability to identify, select, train and coach team members. Responsible for overall coordination and communication within department and production. Interacts with production, engineering, materials and quality teams regarding key/open issues. Responsible for procurement of parts needed to keep tooling functioning properly to meet manufacturing needs. Monitor all department ISO/IATF16969 requirements to satisfy corporate requirements. Maintains documentation and records various data for the department as required. Oversee the activities of the tool room to effectively support plant operations. Responsible for related safety requirements. Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Journeyman status as a Tool & Die Maker or bachelor's degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent. 8 plus years of experience in Tool & Die. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role. Experience in automotive manufacturing.

Knowledge of Stamping, Assembly & Welding, Cutting, Forming, Grinding, Tool Sharpening, Milling, Tool Steel Composition, Hardness Testing, Blueprint Reading, Tool & Die Build/Repair and Tooling Selection. Problem Solving/Analysis Computer Proficiency Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers & suppliers Knowledge of related safety requirements. Confidentiality
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting and on the plant floor.
