Technical Producer
Location: Philadelphia, PA (On-site)

WURD Radio is seeking a Technical Producer to support live and recorded shows and help deliver high-quality, engaging content to our audience. In this role, you will work closely with hosts and guests behind the scenes to keep broadcasts running smoothly across radio, video, and digital platforms.โ€‹

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Run the board for live and studio shows, following station format and timing.โ€‹
  • Cue hosts for commercial breaks and play commercials, promos, IDs, and PSAs according to the commercial log.โ€‹
  • Operate WURD TV and manage show titles, host names, and descriptions for social media broadcasts.โ€‹
  • Operate the stationโ€™s StreamYard account during programs and live broadcasts.โ€‹
  • Edit and upload on-air content to SoundCloud after your producer shifts.โ€‹
  • Meet with hosts to plan segments, transition music, and soundbites for each show.โ€‹
  • Book show guests as needed and help maintain the show calendar.โ€‹
  • Answer caller lines and relay caller information and topics to the host in writing.โ€‹
  • Complete daily reports for each show and maintain accurate caller logs.โ€‹
  • Take transmitter readings and sign off on the commercial log each hour on duty.โ€‹
  • Assist with special projects and fill in for other producers/technical producers as needed.โ€‹
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred.โ€‹
  • At least 1 year of experience in video production, studio engineering, radio, or technical producing.โ€‹
  • Familiarity with audio and video editing software (e.g., common editing tools).โ€‹
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.โ€‹
  • Ability to think creatively about how to present content and engage audiences.โ€‹
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt content for different platforms.โ€‹
  • Knowledge of recording equipment and the ability to operate different radio studios.โ€‹
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and composure in a fast-paced live broadcast environment.โ€‹
Schedule & Reporting
  • On-site in Philadelphia, PA; schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on programming needs.โ€‹
  • Reports to the Program and News Director.โ€‹
