Senior Director of Communications

Community Bridges, Inc. (CB I) is an integrated behavioral healthcare agency offering a variety of different programs throughout Arizona. CBI provides residential, outpatient, inpatient, patient-centered medical homes, medication-assisted treatment, and crisis services to individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness.

CBI is the premiere non-profit fully integrated healthcare provider of substance use and behavioral health programs in Arizona, including prevention, education and treatment using cutting-edge, nationally recognized, evidence-based models.

Job Summary

The Senior Director of Communication (SDC) is responsible for leading the companyโ€™s external communications and public relations with transparency, creativity, and integrity. The SDC is the primary spokesperson for the company, ensuring accurate, prompt, and clear messaging. This position will coordinate development of high quality written and visual content for various communication platforms to engage, explain, and educate stakeholders and the community in response to a broad range of requests for information. ย The SDC is responsible for media relations, community relations, and strategic communications development and execution.ย  Candidates should be creative strategic thinkers capable of collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to advance and defend the companyโ€™s mission and brand identity.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, public relations or related field
  • Six years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism or related experience
  • Demonstrate and present examples of extensive writing and editing experience
  • Exceptional oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Media relations experienceย 
  • Ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple projects and adjust priorities
  • Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), social media applications and marketing, web design, photography
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of health care and behavioral health care systems in Arizona
  • Available 24/7 to respond to community relations to protect CBIโ€™s image and mission
