Job description

Position Summary

The Stringer's top priority is to ensure every customer receives the best possible tennis experience with the racquet service provided including stringing, re-stringing, general racquet maintenance, and customization. Sets a standard of excellence in service and product knowledge regarding all types of string, string patterns, and racquets. Grows revenue to meet and exceed personal and department financial goals. Demonstrates member focused customer service to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs stringing, re-stringing, racquet maintenance, and customization of racquets. Ensures stringing machine is in proper working condition.
  • Provides exceptional service by fitting equipment choices (racquet model, weight, and balance; and string model, thickness, and tension) with the playing style and physique of the customer. Ensuring grips and grommets strip/bumperguard are all in good repair.
  • Fully completes a Racquet Stringing Card for each racquet, attaching appropriate UPCs for all supplies utilized in the service. Tracks stringing package in MMS within 24 hours of service.
  • Attends department and "all club" meetings.

Position Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • United States Racquet Stringing Association certified: Certified Stringer (CS) or Master Racquet Technician (MRT); or provides verification of certification in progress (needs to be completed within 60 days of hire)
  • Excellent customer service skills, friendly, outgoing, and positive attitude
  • Basic product knowledge of tennis
  • Keeps current with industry trends, technology, and standards
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills. Must communicate well with customers and team members
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills
  • Possesses basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds
