While both shipwrights and boat builders work with wooden and composite materials, shipwrights typically focus on constructing and repairing large ships and vessels in maritime settings, requiring specialized skills and certifications. Boat builders generally work on smaller boats, yachts, and recreational vessels, often in more localized environments. Understanding these differences helps clarify career paths and job expectations in the maritime industry.
