Job description

Job Description
Provides excellent service to customers who place a bet in the Sports Book area. Ensure that all customers understand the various type of wagers, displays patience with novice customers, and engages in friendly conversations with all customers. Processes all cash transactions quickly and accurately.
Responsibilities
Sportsbook Ticketwriter
  • Greets customers; inputs betting information into computer; prints ticket; accepts money and gives ticket and change to customers.
  • Accurately maintains bank.
  • Verifies winning tickets.
  • Handles and solves any concerns and questions by customers.
  • Explains wagering information when needed.
  • Maintains and updates Betting Boards or Televisions for customers to view.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Sportsbook Supervisor.
  • ROP $16.50/HR

Sportsbook Supervisor
  • Supervises all wagering policies of the Race & Sportsbooks.
  • Ensure all AML & Title 31 procedures are followed and tracked accurately.
  • Supervises the function of all personnel in Sportsbook Operations ensuring maximum productivity.
  • Ensures betting limit guidelines are followed.
  • Resolve any disputes by following posted house rules and working with local regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Ensures customer recognition and development are foremost duties for all personnel, using tools available appropriately.
  • Ensures that departmental procedures conform to all regulatory requirements and provide maximum security for the company's assets.
  • Inspects facilities and equipment are available and functioning properly. Informs management of any issues with equipment or needed repairs.
  • Create a fun, positive work environment for all employees of Horseshoe employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Sportsbook Manager.
  • Take and deliver beverage orders. Follow and maintain all service standards.
  • Accept payment for orders and provide accurate change.
  • Rop $25/HR

Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Proficient in English verbal and written

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • College Degree with Financial or Business background preferred

  • Two (2) years supervisor experience required

  • At least 6 months previous cash handling experience required

  • Required to pass a math exam.

  • Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays

  • Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission, if applicable.

  • Access to the vessel required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Visually acuity-distinguish colors, shapes etc

  • Ability to have professional interactions with guests.

  • Ability to lift, carry, and push objects up to 30 pounds

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, twist, stretch, turn, push, pull, and grasp repetitively.

  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to bright/flashing lights

  • Ability to tolerate fast-paced, high pressure environment

  • Must be able to work in a walking/standing position for extended periods

  • Must be able to tolerate large crowds/high traffic

  • Ability to tolerate temperature variations

  • Must be able to communicate in a loud environment.

  • Ability to work in a smoking and loud environment
