Allied Universal is seeking Security Professional - Part Time Gatehouse Officer in Mississauga, Ontario.

Job Title: Security Professional - Part Time Gatehouse Officer

Location: Mississaugay, ON

Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.13 per hour

Shifts: Monday to Wednesday, 10:00AM - 2:00PM

Overview :

We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Security Professional - Part Time Gatehouse Officer in Mississauga, Ontario. This position is ideal for individuals who excel in a fast-paced logistics environment, possess strong communication skills, and are committed to maintaining a safe and secure workplace.

The Security Guard will be responsible for access control, monitoring employee and contractor activity, supporting shipping and receiving operations, and ensuring all security procedures are followed. The successful candidate will provide a professional security presence while delivering excellent customer service to employees, drivers, and visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Access Control: Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery drivers. Ensure only authorized individuals and vehicles enter the premises while following all site security procedures.
  • Gatehouse Operations: Operate the security desk/gatehouse by maintaining accurate logs, verifying identification, recording vehicle activity, issuing visitor access, and communicating with site contacts regarding incoming and outgoing traffic.
  • Truck Entry & Exit Management: Assist with incoming and outgoing vehicle traffic by verifying driver information, directing drivers through proper access procedures, and maintaining accurate records of deliveries and departures.
  • Patrolling: Conduct regular interior and exterior security checks of the facility, including warehouse areas, employee areas, parking lots, and loading areas to identify security concerns, safety hazards, or unauthorized activity.
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment. Respond promptly to suspicious activity, security concerns, and site-related incidents.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies, fire alarms, workplace incidents, and security breaches. Follow established emergency procedures and coordinate with emergency services (Police, Fire, and EMS) when required.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous assistance to employees, contractors, visitors, and transportation personnel while maintaining a positive security presence.
  • Incident Reporting: Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift reports documenting all security-related events, observations, and actions taken.
  • Policy Enforcement: Enforce site security procedures, health and safety regulations, access control policies, and client-specific requirements to maintain a safe and secure distribution facility.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Open availability for Day shift
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the location
  • Ability to operate technology and wireless communication systems at client-specific sites
  • Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week.
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience
  • Physically capable of standing or walking for long periods, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 20 kilograms.
