Position Summary
The AI Financial Analyst will support Gotion's Finance organization by combining traditional FP&A responsibilities with advanced analytics, automation, and AI-driven insights. This role focuses on transforming financial data into predictive insights, building automated reporting systems, and enabling smarter, faster decision-making across manufacturing operations.
This is a high-visibility role ideal for someone who understands finance but is also passionate about AI tools, data science concepts, and modern financial technology.
Essential Responsibilities
AI-Enabled Financial Analysis
  • Develop AI-assisted financial models to improve forecasting accuracy and scenario planning.
  • Use machine learning tools or AI platforms to identify cost trends, anomalies, and operational inefficiencies.
  • Support predictive analytics for manufacturing costs, labor utilization, and supply chain spend.
  • Translate complex datasets into actionable business insights for leadership.

FP&A & Business Support
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial close processes.
  • Perform variance analysis on manufacturing costs, overhead, and operational KPIs.
  • Support capital investment analysis and ROI modeling for production expansion projects.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to understand cost drivers.

Data Automation & Reporting
  • Build and maintain automated dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Streamline financial reporting processes using Python, SQL, or AI-based tools.
  • Improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility across finance systems.
  • Reduce manual reporting effort through automation and workflow optimization.

AI & Finance Transformation
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI tools into finance workflows (forecasting, reporting, close process).
  • Support implementation of finance data platforms and analytics infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams on AI-enabled finance initiatives.
  • Evaluate and test emerging AI tools for financial planning and analysis use cases.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with plant leadership to provide real-time financial insights.
  • Support decision-making for production planning, pricing, and cost optimization.
  • Communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders using data visualization and storytelling.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lean finance initiatives.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or operations finance.
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Exposure to SQL, Python, or AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, automation platforms, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, EV, battery, semiconductor, or industrial environments.
