Position Summary

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Admissions (A&R) Clinician to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for individuals seeking mental health treatment services. The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical assessment skills with exceptional customer service to guide patients and families through the admission process and ensure access to appropriate levels of care.

Essential ResponsibilitiesClinical Assessment
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to determine appropriate levels of care.
  • Evaluate psychosocial, emotional, and behavioral health needs across various age groups.
  • Apply knowledge of developmental stages and special populations to clinical decision-making.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care while considering each individual's social, spiritual, and personal background.
  • Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
Care Coordination
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, referral sources, and treatment teams.
  • Verify insurance coverage and coordinate authorization processes.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, nursing staff, and business office personnel to facilitate admissions and continuity of care.
  • Maintain communication with referral sources and provide timely follow-up.
  • Accurately document assessments, referrals, and all related interactions.
Program Operations
  • Respond to high-volume calls, referrals, and walk-in assessments.
  • Coordinate intake appointments and admission activities.
  • Track, organize, and analyze referral and admissions data.
  • Resolve challenges effectively while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and sound judgment in daily operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree with active clinical licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-Associate, or LMFT); or
  • Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility through a compact state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • De-escalation Training: Handle with Care (HWC) certification.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles, practices, and treatment modalities.
  • Understanding of legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in patient care.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications and electronic documentation systems.
  • Strong understanding of insurance plans, PPOs, and managed care processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
  • Experience conducting clinical assessments and treatment planning.
  • Familiarity with local and regional mental health resources.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
