Doug Anderson Plumbing & Heating is looking for a motivated Plumbing Apprentice to join our growing team.

Whether you're just beginning your apprenticeship or already have experience in the trade, we're looking for someone who wants to learn, work hard, and build a long-term career in residential plumbing and heating.

Unlike companies that keep apprentices doing the same task every day, our apprentices gain experience across multiple areas of the business, helping build a well-rounded skill set and a stronger foundation for licensure.

Pay & Benefits

Pay: $15.00 to $40.00 per hour (wide range based on experience and apprenticeship level)

What You'll Do

As a Plumbing Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced licensed plumbers while gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of residential plumbing and heating.

Depending on business needs and your experience level, you'll assist with and learn:

  • Residential service calls
  • Plumbing repairs and troubleshooting
  • Water heater and tankless water heater installations
  • Boiler installations and heating systems
  • New construction plumbing
  • Remodel plumbing
  • Underground, rough, and finish plumbing
  • Fixture installation
  • Gas piping
  • System testing and commissioning
  • Jobsite preparation and cleanup
  • Customer communication and professionalism

Our apprentices rotate between our service, installation, and construction departments to build a broad knowledge base and develop into highly skilled plumbers.

Qualifications

Required

  • Massachusetts Plumbing Apprentice (or eligible to register)
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Reliable transportation to report to our North Billerica shop each workday
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to safely lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Reliable attendance and positive attitude
  • Personal tools
  • Ability to work in all three (rotating) service, installation, and construction departments as business needs require

Preferred

  • Previous residential plumbing or HVAC experience
  • Experience with remodels or new construction
  • Personal hand tools
  • Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service software
  • OSHA 10 Certification
