Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:To provide first-level supervision of school police officers and other assigned staff to the rotating shifts with responsibility for the safety of students, staff and the public and the protection of property; or as directed to supervise the district campus security program; and to provide assistance in a variety of departmental programs and functions.
SUPERVISION:Receives general supervision from the School Police Lieutenant and/or higher level personnel.
Exercises supervision over school police, campus security staff, school police reserves, and other staff.
QualificationsEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION/TRAINING:Currently employed as a peace officer in a California POST-certified police department with a minimum of five years of continuous experience, 45 semester college units in police science, law enforcement, administration of justice, training, business, public administration, or a closely related field and an Intermediate Certificate issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES/REGISTRATIONS*• A valid Class C California driver's license. **

• A current American Red Cross First Aid Certificate or an acceptable equivalent. **

POST Intermediate Certification: 6% to base pay
POST Advanced Certification: 8% to base pay
