Job description

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University's mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.
The candidate will be capable of teaching various levels of animation at the undergraduate online program. Faculty should also have a broad understanding of the role of animation in contemporary culture, art, and commerce. Demonstrate an understanding of the pre-production, production, and post-production processes with a portfolio demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the modeling and animation pipeline and workflow. Experience teaching animation courses online is preferred. Faculty should also be familiar with current industry-standard 2D animation software such as Toon Boom Harmony and Adobe Animate, as well as 3D animation tools like Blender, Maya, ZBrush, and 3DS Max. Experience in game design, including the use of game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine, would also be valuable but not required. Understanding character set-up techniques including rigging and dynamics would be a plus. Experience with cutting-edge design technologies such as AI, generative design, and motion graphics.
Responsibilities:
• Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students within the online Graphic Design curriculum.
• Managing and supporting developed lectures, discussions, and course assignments with current industry standard practices.
• Providing regular and timely feedback to students to improve their design thinking and execution as well as to supervisors to promote student success.
• Evaluate student work and provide detailed critiques submitting grades in a timely manner.
• Stay current with design industry trends, software, and technologies
Educational Requirements:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in Art, Graphic Design, or Communication Design, and demonstrated experience in the concentration.
A terminal degree preferred in the Arts, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree, Mdes, or PhD in animation or a related visual arts field.
A plus would be professional achievements in animation or digital media equivalent to an MFA degree. As well as certifications in the various fields of animation and motion graphics
