Overview

Who says you can't play card games at work? Parkwest Casino is bringing a fresh face to the casino industry. To help aid in the creation of this new casino culture, Parkwest Casino is looking to hire Poker Dealers. 

A Poker Dealer functions as an integral part of the gaming team by dealing all games in an area of the casino. Check out some of the following qualifications listed below.  

Responsibilities
  • Maintains a dealer bank to adequately make change and efficiently run the game.
  • Scrambles and may shuffle by using shuffler machine or by hand, and deals cards in the manner prescribed in the section the individual is assigned to deal. 
  • Oversees the betting action and enforces Casino rules.
  • Assists players in the reading of hands and payoffs of the viewing winning hands.
  • Reports player disputes by calling Floor Supervisor. 
  • Provides game instruction to new players.
  • Be ready to go into rotation as scheduled.
  • Follows direction of the Dealer Coordinator.
  • Follows tip contribution policy set by the house.
  • Display a positive and friendly demeanor.
  • Maintain positive customer relations at all times.
  • Do not make floor decisions: qualified individual must call Floor person or manager if problems occur while playing.
  • While working on the casino floor follow all casino guidelines pertaining to security and being sensitive to each customers' gaming experience.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
    • Previous experience dealing all Poker Games preferred. 
    • Must be able to deal Ultimate Texas hold em. 
    • Must be able to work any shift, weekends and holidays and overtime when needed.  
    • Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.
    • Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California gambling establishment employee permit, badge or license.
    • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
    • Must be able to pass a mandatory screening which may include a background and credit check, drug and alcohol test.
    • Able to converse in English.
    • Able to work independently.
    • Able to work within a team environment.
    • Must be 21 plus years of age. 

    Education:   High school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent. Associate's degree or dealer school diploma preferred.

     

    Experience:   1 year experience as a dealer in a comparable casino, or completion of dealer's school.

    Physical and Mental Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to walk, stand, sit and bend at neck for 6 or more hours a day.
    • Position will require repetitive use of hands for the following actions; simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling and reaching for entire shift.
    • Position may require exposure to excessive noise.
    • Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
