Job Description

Description:

Under indirect supervision, performs interpretative microscopic evaluation for gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens, including fine needle aspiration specimens. Diagnosis & report final cytology interpretation of normal gynecologic specimens and prepare preliminary interpretation of abnormal gynecological as well as all non-gynecological samples for pathologist's review and final diagnosis. Records and analyzes findings, correlates data and reports results in accordance with accepted practice and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of recent full time cytology laboratory experience required. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in clinical lab, physical, or biological science required, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration
  • Possess CT (ASCP) Board of Registry certification.
  • Demonstration of a passing score of (90%) for all Gynecological Cytology Proficiency Testing events (CLIA and CAP requirement).
